Userscript: Password Viewer
Temporarily show text in password fields by pressing and holding Ctrl+/.
Installation
Install userscript manager
- Install a userscript manager, such as Tampermonkey (Chrome | Edge | Firefox).
- Pin the Tampermonkey icon for easy access by clicking the 🧩 puzzle piece icon to the right of the address bar and then the 📌 pin icon next to Tampermonkey.
- For Chrome/Edge, allow userscripts:
- Right-click the Tampermonkey icon and select "Manage extension".
- Enable the "Allow user scripts" option.
- Enable "Developer mode" (shown at top right on Chrome or bottom left on Edge).
- Restart your browser for the new settings to take effect.
Install this userscript
- Open password-viewer.user.js.
- If this doesn't open in the newly-installed userscript manager, you may need to restart your browser.
- Click "Install", "Update", or "Reinstall", or otherwise follow the instructions in your userscript manager as required.
Usage
Press and hold Ctrl+/ to show text in focused password fields.
